Danze D455158SS Parma Review

A Commercial Style Faucet without the Commercial Price!

If any of you reading this are in the same generation as me, you will understand when I tell you how simple faucets used to be in “the old days”. They were a functional addition to your sink and often came with two spouts each with a handle. In a lot of cases these handles were the old fashioned wheel type, which (if your childhood memories are anything like mine) were hard to turn and very easily froze up without warning.

These days, design and functionality has come a long way, and gone are the days when you had little choice with the type of faucet you could have in your kitchen. In fact, it has taken me some time to reduce the number of reviews I’ve included on my website simply because there are so many to choose from.

The faucet I’m about to review for you here is the Danze D455158SS Parma which is a single handle pre-rinse faucet. I’ve included this one for those of you that want the commercial look on your kitchen sink, but are not prepared to pay the prices this type of faucet often demands. It’s also great for those of you that like that super modern, yet minimalistic look.

So, with looks in mind let’s deal with that first.

If you’re looking for a faucet that will catch everyone’s eye when they go into your kitchen, this model will do the trick. It stands at 22 ¾ inches high so it arcs beautifully over your sink without being intrusive. It’s available in two colors: stainless steel and chrome, so it will compliment any type of décor in the kitchen.

I must say that once this faucet is installed, in the beginning you will probably spend more time looking at it rather than using it! It has clean, fresh lines which add a certain contemporary look to your sink and will instantly freshen up the look of your whole kitchen.

Versatility and No Drips

This kitchen faucet uses a disk valve made of ceramic which not only helps to prevent leaks, but will also add to the overall smooth operation. The hose is 10 inches in length and you get the benefit of two modes of spray. The first is an aerated stream which is great for jobs at your sink like washing hands or your dishes. The second is a spray which will handle the more heavy duty jobs like rinsing fruit and vegetables.

The spray wand is an easy to use spring design which has actually been incorporated into the overall look and when you’re done using it, it will spring right back into place with ease. What I must say at this point (and it is a complaint I’ve come across from many people), is the spray wand is made of plastic and not metal. This could become an issue for those of you that have a busy kitchen as this is the part of the faucet that is used most often.

Then again, this kitchen faucet is backed with a limited lifetime guarantee and meets the requirements as set out by the ADA. It’s also low lead compliant as per the California AB 1953 and Vermont 193 Act.

Overall, I think this faucet is a great addition to your kitchen both in terms of looks and functionality, and won’t cost you the earth like many other commercial models. In fact, if you take a quick look at Amazon they have some great deals on the list price.
